2017
(10–13 November)

Nine starters for the event, including Les, Lindsay and Phil.

Day 1 – Bunbury Golf Club
Some found the course to their liking and notched up good scores. Macca (42 points) showed his best form while Scobes (41 points) was even more consistent than usual. Ronzo (37 points) and Lindsay (36 points) were also setting themselves for a good weekend. Jacko was NAGA with 27 points.

Nobody was able to claim an NTP and Les hit them long when it counted winning both Long Drives. Macca got the only birdie on a par 3 where he chipped in for a 5 pointer.

Day 2 – Binningup
Only Lindsay (21 points) was good enough to master the demanding course. Jacko (16 points) was solid and a few others scored 14 points. Tom was NAGA with 7 points.
Les hit the only NTP for the day with a tricky powerful hit that hit a bunker and somehow bumped out and landed on the green.
Meanwhile the new boys continued to dominate the Long Drive holes with Lindsay winning two and Les picking up the other one.

Les's harmonious piano playing was enough . . . . to put Macca asleep

Day 3 – Sanctuary Cove
Lindsay
(40 points) really hit his straps and blitzed the field. Next best was Tom with 31 points. Other middling scores were Jacko and Scobes (both 29 points) and Ron (28 points.
Macca was only NTP winner for day, picking up a 4 ball jackpot.
Lindsay cleaned up with both of the Long Drive prizes.
Lindsay and Jacko both had birdies.
Walks (20 points) was NAGA.

The Lead-up
With one day's play to go, Lindsay should have had his hands firmly clasped around the Binningup Cup, but it was not to be. He had commitments back home and could not play the last day. Scobes, who had the second best score after 3 days, also had to be somewhere else. All of a sudden the rest of the pack were back in the running for a chance to win the cup.
Leading scores going into the last day were Macca (50), Ron (48), Les (47), Walks (46) and Jacko (42). Five players were in with a real chance.

Day 4 – Binningup
Scoring was tough on the last day. Ronzo (16 points) won the day, followed by Les (15 points) and Jacko (14 points).
NTPs went to Ron and Jacko. Les won two Long drives and Ron got the other.
Walks was NAGA for the second day in a row.

Ronzo was the winner of the Binningup Cup with 64 points, just pipping Macca (63) points and Les (62 Points).

Overall, it was an excellent long weekend of friendly rivalry on the golf courses, lots of good humour and great mateship. Can't remember who won the cards.

And what about Les? He showed us his piano playing prowess and provided some great entertainment.
